Last day of lectures tomorrow

Lectures are finally over. I'm planning to relax for the weekend and then start studying. I have two final this term and both are one week away and on the same day. All I keep thinking about is that soon it will all be over. Then I can have a two week break before I start my final term at SFU.

Last week of lectures is never fun

I have to do my final assignments for all my courses and also finish off my term project. The project is to create my own web search engine for CMPT 456. I am almost done and I'm very happy with the results. I also have one last MACM assignment to complete by Friday and then I can relax for about a day. Then I need to start studying for finals. I cant wait until final exams are done and I can take a few weeks off from school and just hang out with friends and go fishing.

Canucks start strong!

The Canucks had a very strong game tonight. They were excellent in all aspects of their game. They were physical, and won all of the major puck battles. I look forward to the playoffs and I hope Vancouver can make a real push for the cup.

Fishing season is here

I spent all day today doing nothing but fishing. I started the day off at Menakhada park in north Coquitlam. After I was done there I drove over to sasamat lake and white pine beach. The trout fishing is excellent this time of year. Most lakes in the lower mainland have now been stocked with thousands of rainbow trout. It is too bad thought that finals are coming up in two weeks.

What a night!

I watched the movie "Olympus has fallen" tonight and I liked it very much. Even though it was an action movie with a fairly predictable script. There were still some plot twists in the end. I also made it to my car in time to listen to the final minutes of the Canucks game in the shootout. They won a hard fought game and that's all you can ask for.

4 weeks left until this semester is over

The Canucks finally win a game, and I didn't get to watch it. I will get to watch the game on Sunday so I hope they can keep it up. Only four weeks of lectures left for this semester. I can wait until I finally graduate this summer.

Canucks are losing and Booth is gone

The Canucks looked like they were about to string together a winning streak but then everything just fell apart. They have now lost both of their last two games, and in embarrassing fashion too. If the Canucks are going to compete for the Stanley Cup this year, they need to fix whatever is wrong  and do it fast. On top of all the issues that the Canucks already have, now we hear that Booth is probably injured for at least a few weeks. This is going to be a tough year for the Canucks if you ask me.

Canucks win!

Tonight's hockey game between the Canucks and Columbus was excellent. The Canucks finally ended their multi-game losing streak. Also Mason Raymond ended the game with a spectacular shoot out goal. The opposing team was complaining to the referees but in my opinion, that goal was legal and amazing at the same time.

Canucks lose again

The Canucks are on another losing streak. Now they have gone three games without a win. They even lost against Columbus this week who are the worst team in the western conference. At least the Canucks are losing games in overtime which means that they still get one point.

Canucks have no power play

The Canucks had a very bad game versus Calgary during the weekend and now they have another bad game tonight. They were losing by two goals early in the game tonight versus San Jose. The team played well, and make a nice comeback attempt, but in the end they lost in extra time due to their weak power play.

The week is finally over

This week has been long and tiresome. I completed a writing assignment and a mathematics assignment. I can now finally take a break and do no homework over the weekend. I will miss the Canucks game tomorrow night, but I plan to catch the game on Sunday. Should be an excellent weekend ahead, now if only the rain would cease.

Coyotes come to town tonight!

Only a few hours left until the puck is dropped at the Canucks and Coyotes game in Rogers Arena. This game might be a but slow and probably wont be the best game of the season but yet it is very important. This  game is important because the Canucks need to start another winning streak and they need to do it soon. They are slowly sliding in the standing but at least they are in the Northwest division which is very weak this year.

Canucks win!

Another day and another Canucks game over with. The Canucks finally break their three game losing streak and pick up two points. The team looked sloppy out there at certain points tonight but you cant argue with a win. I can only hope that Kesler picks up his game soon and becomes a positive instead of the negative that he has been so far.

Midterms and Kesler

This is my dreaded midterm week, right after reading break. I am staying up late to study, yet my mind wonders to the Canucks. I remind myself that the Canucks have now lost 3 straight games, but at least Kesler and Booth have now officially returned. Hopefully next week will be better.

Who will play goalie for next game?

The next Canucks game is on Friday. At the beginning of the season the games seemed to be so frequent yet during the last two weeks the games have been very spaced out. Also the goalie controversy in Vancouver continues as both goalies are playing like superstars. The question before every game lately seems to be who will play and why?

So the week begins...

I took the weekend off and did no homework whatsoever but my relaxation time is no longer. Today is Monday and I finally started doing some studying for my upcoming midterms. Thankfully the weather cooperated as today was nothing but rain. I always find it impossible to study when it is sunny outside. I plan to watch the Canucks game tomorrow night, if only I can finish this assignment.

The reading break is finally here!

Today is the Friday before reading break. I have a lot of studying to do for midterms during the week but i am still glad that at least I don't have to attend lectures too. On a Canucks note, it looks like the team is doing very well in February and Ryan Kesler and David Booth are going to be back soon. The only complaint I have at this point is the lack of Canucks games next week. Three games in one week is not enough games in my opinion.

Kesler may be back soon

Ryan Kesler is finally skating again. I wonder when he will actually be game ready. Although, I have a strong feeling that even if Kesler starts playing again, he will not be at top form for a few weeks. Lets just hope that the Canucks make it to the playoffs this year.

Canucks play the same style yet again.

I am a big Canucks fan and I always will be. Although, I can never truly understand why they take so long to fix an issue with their style of game. Last nights game against the Blackhawks was played with the same style as last week. Score one goal, sit on it for the whole game, get scored on late in third period, and then try your luck in the shoot-out  I hope the Canucks change up their style for next game or else they might not even make the playoffs this year, yet alone win the Stanley Cup.

I can't believe that the Canucks lost tonight!

The Canucks have decided to try their luck once again in the shoot-out  This team has always been below average in the shoot out since it was introduced. The shooters do not seem to know how to score and the goalies do not know how to save a shot. I am extremely disappointed with the final result of tonight's game.

So many Canucks games but so little time to watch

It seems like every other day the Canucks are having more back to back double header games. I wonder how long the team can maintain this very high pace of games before players start getting injured. The Canucks now have three games in the next four day! At least they are on a California road trip instead of sitting here in Vancouver with us like suckers.

Canucks finally win a hockey game!

I was looking forward to tonight's Canucks game versus the Calgary Flames, but I was also very nervous at the same time. I had many thoughts going through my mind including whether the Canucks can win a game against a desperate team like the Flames, and how would Cory Schneider react to being back in net. The game is now over and the Canucks barely scratched out a win in the shoot-out, but the team and Schneider both looked great tonight so I'm very exited to see what happens next time.

I can not believe that it is almost time for the Canucks season opener!

I am very much looking forward to the Canucks season opener on Saturday. I do not expect the team to win the Stanley cup but for some reason I have a feeling that the coming season is going to be a good one. Maybe I am just very happy to finally be able to watch some live hockey instead of continuous bickering between the NHL and the player's association.Go Canucks Go!

Canucks sign yet another defenseman

I woke up today and read on TSN NHL news that the Canucks have signed another depth defenseman. I am very happy that the Canucks have been excellent on defence for many years now and will be for many more to come. Although in my opinion, the Canucks are extremely lacking in the forward position in terms of players that can actually score goals. This team is going to have a hard time challenging for the Stanley cup this season if they do not get a replacement for Ryan Kesler before Saturday's season opener.

Kesler still out with no date for his return

Ryan Kesler was certainly one of our best players last season. The current status for Kesler is considered as month to month. Therefore he will not be back in a Canucks uniform for at least another month if not more. I hope the Canucks have some good ideas about who is going to become the team's new number two center. In my educated opinion, the Canucks are going to once again be a one line team this year.

Boring lockout news instantly replaced by repetitive Luongo trade rumours

The NHL lockout is officially over and the focus has now shifted to the players once again. There is so much speculation about the future of Roberto Loungo that I do not know what to believe any more. In my highly educated opinion, Mike Gillis should make Loungo available on the market but only trade him for a player of equal or greater value. Personally, I am very tired of all this trade speculation and would like to see some live hockey already!
